Counseling for parents, raising neurodivergent and disabled children.
Parents of children with disabilities are often exhausted and frequently become depressed. Their reserves of time and resources for self-care are even more depleted.
This isn't something you have to handle all by yourself.
Therapy provides healthy ways to cope with the various challenges you’re facing so that you can manage the amount of overwhelm you may feel on a daily basis.
* I use identity-first language since this is preferred by most disabled and neurodivergent individuals.
About me
I earned my MA in Counseling and Psychology with a focus on Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of San Francisco. Additionally, I hold a BA in Liberal Studies and an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Early Childhood Development from Notre Dame De Namur University.
I have gained valuable professional experience in educational settings and programs, where my focus involves advocacy for and education of neurodiverse students. Furthermore, I hold a trauma-informed background, having worked with domestic violence survivors by providing therapy and support group services. Additionally, I hold certification as an Autism Informed therapist.
I am passionate working and advocating for parents of children with disabilities.
I help adolescent and teens with disabilities learn coping skills to deal with their anxiety and depression and help them find their voice to advocate for themselves.
I work with individuals, parents and couples, whose children are disabled and neurodivergent.
I will help you navigate feelings of anxiety, depression, isolation, burnout, grief and stages of acceptance.
My approach is warm, collaborative, and client-centered, designed to help you start where you are. I also integrate a variety of different modalities and techniques into my work, which allows me to provide guidance that is tailored to your needs.
